Today is July 1st. Actually, the first day of the last half of this year.
All of your New Years’ Resolutions have now long become part of the busy shuffle of life that has swept us all from January to the mid part of this year in a whirl.
The good news is, that was then and there is nothing you can do about it now. Tomorrow is only a hope and today is your present.
I want to challenge each of you to stop right now and take 3 slow deep breaths. I know you don’t have time to do this…but go ahead anyway. Take a few seconds to think about what you haven’t accomplished since your New Year started. Say good bye to those thoughts…There are no failures. There are only opportunities to make a positive change for where you are in this moment.
Set your intention. Today break out of your normal habit of one thing you do. Brush your teeth sitting down instead of standing up, drive a different way to your next destination, turn off the radio in your car, something that would change something you do as a habit.
After you do this, congratulate yourself that you did something different. Then, think of one positive thing you could do for yourself to day… Just one.. take a walk, smile more at strangers, drink water instead of soda, eat a salad instead of fries, put your legs up and rest for 5 minutes with your eyes closed.
The changes in our lives start small…Do something new today.. one small step each day in the right direction will lead you on a magnificent journey.
